A grandson was able to fulfill his 90-year-old grandmother’s dream. Now she has even more plans for her life
The heroine of this story is a 90-year-old woman, Joy Ryan. During her life , she did everything for her family members, and her own dreams were always second. This story proves that regardless of age, a person can live and appreciate life, enjoy every second.
Joy’s family was not rich. The woman lived in a small town called Falls and worked in a supermarket. She went on holiday with her husband and children from time to time, but she had never seen the sea in her life.
The woman had 3 sons, 2 of whom died at the age of 40. After that, another misfortune awaited her: her husband died. After that, her life changed a lot. Now the old woman spends most of her time in front of the TV and rarely sees her relatives. This situation changed when her beloved grandson came to visit her. The latter had a meeting with some hikers and told his grandmother about their impressions of walking in the Appalachian Mountains.
When the grandmother said that she would like to visit such a wonderful place, the grandson began to think about that. At the end of the school year, Brad’s friend committed suicide, which was a great pain for him. The boy thought about life, death and losing his relatives and was terrified. And since his grandmother was often sick, the boy wanted to spend more time with her and make her happy.
At the age of 85, Joy took a risk by becoming Brad’s traveling companion. Their trip to the Smoky Mountains made a big impression on both of them. Although their age difference was big, they got along. Joy was impressed and even excited by this experience. And Brad realized after this trip that age is not important in a company. He had a wonderful time with his grandmother.
This was just the beginning. The grandson decided that the grandmother would have more trips, because there was still a lot to see. However, he did not have that much money. On some funding platform, he shared that he wanted to show his grandmother all the national parks in the America. After this, many people made donations, the collected amount was more than the boy had planned. Many people commented that it is a very good gift idea for loved ones.
Now an experienced traveler Joy has visited half of those parks and plans to visit the rest as well. Seeing the enthusiasm and happiness of the grandmother, the grandson is doubly happy.
Age means very little. The important thing is that a person should be young at heart, just like the heroine of our story.
