Long nails have always been in vogue, but achieving them can pose a challenge for many people. However, Cornelia Adams, who is 59 years old, has not only accomplished this feat but has also demonstrated that one can lead a comfortable life with nails that are as long as 30 cm. Adams, an American woman, began growing her nails in 1989 and has refrained from using scissors ever since. Initially, her motivation stemmed from her mother, as she was  inspired by her mother’s lengthy nails and desired to have the same.Cornelia’s desire for longer nails led her to stop filing them once they reached the length of her parents’. Eventually, she became accustomed to the extreme length and has maintained it comfortably for 33 years, much to the surprise of those around her two wondered how she could manage everyday tasks with nails that were 30 cm long. However, she has found a solution; she primarily uses her knuckles to perform activities such as washing dishes, brushing her teeth, and answering the phone.

Cornelia has found a clever solution to manage her long nails – when she needs to hold or pick up something, she curls her fingers so that her nails are on the inside of her hand, which prevents  any discomfort. However, the kitchen is the only area where she faces some difficulty with tasks such as turning croquettes or stirring food in a pan. Despite this, she has no intention of trimming her nails to a shorter length as she has become so accustomed to them over the years that she cannot imagine life without them.

Online users often ask her questions such as “How can you possibly live with such long nails?”, “Is it even possible to function with nails that length?”, and “Why would you subject yourself to such torture?”. Some have even gone so far as to suggest that she should make her hands look “normal” by trimming her nails to a shorter length, implying that her current appearance is unappealing. Others have expressed concern that her nails must make it difficult for her to perform everyday tasks, such as homework or interacting with others, and may even scare people away.Cornelia responds enthusiastically to these comments and tries to make it clear that she is happy and has nothing to worry about.
