The Oldest Park Tanger In The USA: The Old Woman Retires At The Age Of 100!

Betty Reid Soskin, a dedicated park ranger, has retired at the age of 100 after 15 successful years of service at the Home Front National Historic Park in Richmond.

She was honored as the most famous park keeper in the USA. A public event is planned to celebrate her retirement on April 16. Betty started her career as a file clerk in the 1940s and later owned a record store with her husband.

After the store closed, she found a new job as a ranger at the National Park Service at the age of 89.

Along with her duties, she also engaged in social projects and shared her memories and ideas at the visitor center.

Betty is proud to have contributed to the park’s history and enjoyed shaping its future.
