The Siamese Twins Were Separated When They Were 4 Years Old: Look What 18-year-old Girls Look Like Now?
In February 2002, Jake and Erin Herrin welcomed twin girls, Kendra and Malia, into their family. However, the girls were born as Siamese twins, which means they were physically connected. Their parents faced mixed emotions but were determined to give each twin their own independent life.
Kendra and Malia shared two legs, with each controlling one. Despite this challenge, they quickly learned to work together, move around, and play. When the girls turned 4 years old, a team of 31 specialists performed a procedure to separate them.
This procedure took over a day and received significant media coverage, making Kendra and Malia mini-celebrities.
After the separation, each twin became independent and adjusted to their new lives. They began attending school, showing their peers that there are no hopeless situations. Kendra and Malia’s talents in creativity and their positive attitude made them heroes among their classmates.
Now 18 years old, Kendra and Malia live full lives. They obtained driver’s licenses and are skilled drivers. They also maintain a YouTube channel and social media pages, sharing interesting events from their lives with tens of thousands of fans.
The Herrin sisters support another set of Siamese twins, Kelly and Carter, and offer advice to their mother. Kelly and Carter also plan to undergo separation, but their parents have not made a decision yet.
